• All citations are appropriately formatted in a consistent manner.
• All citations are also from UNESCO; would appreciate some source diversity here, especially some third-party coverage. The list could benefit from using these in the lead to provide context for the listed and tentative sites, as well as Mongolia's own thoughts on the honors (if possible).

The issue I am having with non-UNESCO sources is that they are typically directly derived, thus not providing any added value, or are tourist sites or blogs which again are not particular helpful. I quick-checked national ministry of culture, that would be a good source, but I didn't find anything. I am, of course, open to suggestions. Tone 08:34, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Tone, you may find additional sourcing in Christopher Atwood's Encyclopedia of Mongolia and the Mongol Empire (2004), which you can find here. It provides detail on all the World Heritage sites (albeit some under different names) and some of the tentative list. ~~ AirshipJungleman29 (talk) 14:42, 27 January 2025 (UTC)

On a second thought, yes, more information about sites would be helpful for the articles about the sites themselves, but this is about the significance and why they were listed/nominated, and here the key source is the UNESCO one (or ICOMOS, sometimes). Everything else is derivative. Sometimes I use other sources if the UNESCO ones from older dates turn out to be outdated (such as Old Cairo being well-preserved as it stated in the original text which is not the case, or new measurements updating the heights of mountains, which sometimes happens, or a species going extinct, which was the case for some national parks). @Tone:

• The legend should be marked so that someone with a screenreader will know its a legend, like in List of songs recorded by SZA.
• Tables need captions to adhere by MOS:DTAB.
• The blue cell colors currently fails the WebAIM Color Contrast checker for WCAG 2.0 AA and WCAG 2.0 AAA on the Vector 2022 skin link color,  , but only fails the WCAG 2.0 AAA for the other skins link color,  . My suggestion is to change the color to adhere by MOS:COLOR.

Added legend to the screenreader part. The table style looks consistent to me, I am using row and col and all that, so please help me out here. And also for the blue cell - what do you suggest I use here instead? The current style has worked for over a decade. @Tone: I do not see things unless I get pinged for it.

• This color: #e6f5ff   is a light enough blue and passes the contrast checker. The yellow color is fine as well in the other article.
• You can learn how to add captions to tables at Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Accessibility/Data tables tutorial#Proper table captions and summaries. All FLs should follow the manual of style, especially if one has a table.

@Cowboygilbert: Alright, I see. Well, in this case, I'll have to challenge the MOS. For screen reader purposes, the legend is included in the code, adding the caption again after the title that literally says the same thing (World Heritage Sites) is totally redundant. As for the colour, this white is so bright that it is hardly visible. The blue in the box at the beginning of conversation, the dark one, is not what is used in the table. So I wonder if we are using the same settings? I think I am using the default ones. Tone 16:41, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

@Tone: The dark blues, if you can read it properly, says that they are the text colors of the different skins. Not that you are using it. The captions aren't redundant because they aren't meant to just say what the heading says. They can say something like "List of world heritage sites with location, year, UNESCO data, and other details". It is meant to reflect what it is in the table. Thank you. @Cowboygilbert: I think I get it now, I was looking at the contrast with black text, not the blue (or purple, which I obviously have in my browser since I changed the links). As for the caption, I've had all along sronly|World Heritage Sites with the name of the site, image, location, year it was listed, UNESCO reference number and criteria, and description in the code and that should do, the names are descriptive enough. If this is for screen reader purpose, that should do. For other purposes, it is clearly redundant and represents extra cluttering. Tone 17:13, 4 March 2025 (UTC)

Dicklyon

We have discussion elsewhere about consistent citation style, particularly capitalization. Presently, the citations appear to be literally consistent with the respective sources (at UNESCO, mostly), but not consistent across them, since UNESCO is so inconsistent itself. And particularly not consistent with MOS:TITLE's title-caps style (we would say "and Its" where UNESCO has "and its") and since some other part of the UNESCO titles are randomly lowercase (similarly in the featured List of World Heritage Sites in Japan, e.g. here; also "Northern part" at UNESCO was preserved in the citation but rendered as "northern part" in the article title and table, so it's not like we're not allowed to change capitalization).

Further, it saddens me that the one thing UNESCO is pretty consistent about, "World Heritage sites", we choose to over-capitalize.

None of this is to say it's not a great list. This is probably not a good venue for me to complain. Dicklyon (talk) 09:55, 2 March 2025 (UTC)

Yup, I am aware that UNESCO sources are inconsistent, I am trying to do my best to find some good ground between the sources and the style we use in WP articles about the sites. Although one editor has an issue with the way the captions are used, the purpose of captions is to allow screen reader software, when it jumps straight to a table without the surrounding context, to give out a description of what the table is. They're not meant to be an exhaustive description, and if there's a nearby header that serves the same purpose, they don't need to be visible (as sighted readers get that context). The example at DTAB explicitly calls this out, in that text above can be the context. • A key/legend is needed for List of International Cricket Council members#Associate members with ODI status for the red X and the emdash in the table.
• Make sure you use the !scope=row like what MPGuy2824 said but make sure you use it in the correct row, do it in the country row and not the number row because the scope of the row for that table is on the countries.
• The very light gray color you used for "Teams" under the first table is almost non-existent to people who are visually imparied and failed the WebAIM contrast checker. The text and color should be removed as it serves virtually no purpose.

• In my opinion, yes. The way you are doing it now is to explain why the special colors and symbols are there and not what they mean. You don't have to get elaborate in the key/legend but just say like "Teams that does not have an ODI status" and "Teams that are not ranked on ODI rankings".
• I meant to link WP:DUPLICATELINK. This is only for the prose, not the tables. For an example: "World Cricket League" is mentioned three times and is linked twice, it should be linked once.

I see a few comments have been made above, but figure I'd give this a proper source review:

• Does "Anon" in ref 2 stand for "anonymous"? If so, this should be removed. If no author is listed it should just be blank.
• What makes The Midlands Rocks a reliable source? It's about page refers to it as a WP:BLOG and seems to imply that you can write for them just by filling out their contact form, suggesting poor editorial standards.
• Metal Injection is italicized in ref 14, but not ref 13, it should be consistent in either format
• Ref 18 actually has a listed author that needs added
• Ref 19: wikilink YouTube
• Similar to the above, Anon should be removed from 21
• The title in ref 27 isn't italicized while the rest of the YouTube titles are, again this should be consistent
  • "OFFICIAL VIDEO" in this ref should be changed to "Official Video"
• I see that a number of references switch between sentence and title case. This should also be consistent. I'd like to suggest that you run this script to help with that.
• Spot checked references 1, 7, 12, 13, 14, 18, 22, and 28; mostly everything checks out except for the two concerns below.
  • Regarding 12: is there a direct source to refer to it as "critically acclaimed"? If not it may be considered WP:PUFFERY.

As such, this is one of the flagship articles of the Figure Skating WikiProject and should be of the highest quality. Hyperion82 and I worked very hard a while back to improve this article and I believe the quality is evident. The results are all sourced and documented, the tables are properly formatted, a well-sourced history is provided and I believe the sources are properly formatted, and relevant photographs are used to reflect both the present-day and historical contexts. No, what I meant was one seems to be from a magazine, and two from a newspaper, so did you check properly to find a name- bcs like in the case of magazines, it could be at the end of it or something too, along with that of every other image in said magazine(just want to make sure, as sometimes the attributed author can be specified in unusual places. Ah, yes, I did. It would be unusual for a UK newspaper to have picture credits somewhere other than close to the image, and I couldn't find any for those. • Tables need row scopes on the "primary" column for each row, which in combination with column scopes lets screen reader software accurately determine and read out the headers for each cell of a data table. Row scopes can be added by adding !scope=row to each primary cell, e.g. | 1987 becomes !scope=row | 1987 (on its own line). Please see MOS:DTAB for example table code if this isn't clear.
• The ref column should be unsortable.
• The Final score column sorts in a weird way (in descending order 700, then 200, then 1000). Please fix.
• I think it would better if the "Not held" cell is centered wherever it occurs.

• Cuisine links: There are four restaurants that have Contemporary and Fusion listed as the cuisine that are unlinked. I think many readers would not know what these mean without a link similar to the other cuisines. Typically, Contemporary refers to New American cuisine but that may not be the case. Does Contemporary mean New American or does this mean modern/new Turkish cuisine? All four of these restaurants are active starred restaurants so information is likely readily available on the Michelin guide site.
• Culinary scene: The introductory paragraphs should ideally contain more information about the dining scene in Turkey, notable chefs from Turkey, etc.

Araka's website descrbies their own cooking as "Modern Turkish cuisine." What do you think?

• I was confused by The Guide originally launched in 2023 -- contextually, "The Guide" must refer to some Turkish-specific guide, but that information hasn't been introduced.
• Organizationally, I think it would be better to have all the Turkey-specific information together in one paragraph. (So, the current paragraph 2, and also the info at the end of paragraph 3.) Personally I'd place that info as the second paragraph (since it's more important to this specific article), but it could also work as the last paragraph.

• @History6042: I've fixed most of everything except the harv warnings. I don't know how to fix those errors unless you know of a different method to cite multiple times from the same book. As for the ratings, since the source is the only one I have supporting those figures (TVbythenumbers was once owned by the same company that once owned the Chicago Tribune) does not explicitly mention viewers in the United States or that it was based on an average, I just slightly tweaked the sentence.

These warnings are produced by a script. In the future, be sure to mention which script you are seeing warnings in, and specifically where they are; in this case, a more helpful comment would have been "Citation 13 has several warnings that were highlighted in this script that state "Harv warning: There is no link pointing to this citation. @History6042: I have fixed the single reference error. The remaining are warnings, which are displayed by a user script you installed, and which happen to be false positives here – caused by using multiple citation templates inside a single reference footnote, which is permitted by WP:BUNDLING and does not violate the featured list criteria. jlwoodwa (talk) 02:01, 7 February 2025 (UTC)

I see that you have changed "moreover" to "also", but that doesn't really change the sense of the sentence. Saying "The show also garnered lower Nielsen ratings compared to the previous ceremony," only really makes sense if the audience figure mentioned in the previous sentence was lower than the previous year's figure. If it was, then state that explicitly. If it wasn't, then remove the "also" -- ChrisTheDude (talk) 16:03, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

• @Hey man im josh: I am almost done addressing your comments. For reference nine, I do see "13 June" at the top of the page underneath the article title. For the Rolling Stone ref (19), there is no need for subscription to access, but rather they encourage readers to disable their ad blockers to allow for display of advertisements due to revenue. I'm trying to clip the articles I have found on Newspapers.com as much as possible, although some do not allow me to unless there is a subscription. That's where things stand as of now.

Fair enough if you see "13 June" instead, I understand it may render different depending on one's timezone. As for the Rolling Stone reference, I'm seeing it cut off after "Purple Rain film and soundtrack were among the biggest hits of 1984.", with it saying to subscribe now / log in. @Hey man im josh: I've finished making clippings for the articles from Newspapers.com though the archiving tool refuses to let me archive them. I think that sentence you mentioned in the Rolling Stone article was the last one as there is no subscribe now/log in page where I am unless this depends on location (I am accessing this from the United States), but I guess this is minor so I added the warning. I've also added links to the books that are available on the Internet Archive (although one of them had the book made unavailable due to copyright disputes, the Vincent Terrance one, so I omitted that). Also linked authors with their own Wikipedia pages.

• You added [[Ancestry.com|Newspapers.com]] instead of just linking to Newspapers.com. Typically it'd be better to link to Newspapers.com, especially considering there's a good chance the article actually gets created some day.
• Ref 6 – Add Associated Press as the agency
• Ref 25 – Links to a disambiguation for Liz Smith. Target should be fixed.
• Ref 34 – Add Associated Press as the agency
• Ref 29 – It's "Williams" for the last name instead of "William"
